Job Summary

Organizes and provides prompt, courteous delivery, patient instruction, and set-up of home medical equipment.  Assures equipment and supply deliveries are clean, in good repair and operational, and that inventory levels are available to meet the needs of patients and referral sources.  Maintains, organizes, and assures that delivery vehicles are operational, receive necessary maintenance, are clean and stocked with appropriate safety equipment and meet regulatory standards.  Obtains patient referral information and assures that company records, files, and documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.  Coordinates scheduling of deliveries with patient and/or caregivers.  Completes all necessary forms.  Performs and maintains records for equipment maintenance.  Patient duties 70%, warehouse operations oversight 20% and equipment maintenance 10%.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensures delivery vehicles are stocked with appropriate supplies, safety, personal protective and cleaning equipment. 
  1. Processes invoices to correct patient accounts, ensuring delivery ticket / information is complete and accurately documented for tracking, billing, and inventory purposes. 
  1. Takes steps to ensure adequate inventory levels to include purchasing, pricing, stocking, ordering, and processing of utilized equipment and supplies. 
  1. Provides assistance and support to employees and contractors. 
  1. Participates in Mandatory On-Call Rotation, handling emergency after hour situations. 
  1. Attends and conducts in-services, workshops, and meetings as necessary. 
  1. Meets all regulatory standards and supports continued performance improvement. 
  1. Schedules, organizes, and performs delivery set-ups, patient instruction, and pickups in accordance with the patient and patient's family, physician's and referral source's request and expectations. 
  1. Communicates with coworkers, patients, patient's family, physicians, and referral sources in a professional manner. 
  1. Other duties assigned. 
  1. Adheres to company policies and procedures.



Minimum of one-year experience in providing job duties as defined in this position.  Evidence of training relevant to job duties and responsibilities.  Knowledge of home medical equipment and safety requirements.  The ability to maintain high levels of concentration and to work in highly emotional situations.  Knowledgeable of regulatory standards such as FDA, OSHA and DOT.  Capable of working as a part of a team.  Willingness to provide cost-effective, quality services.  The ability to communicate with others in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner.  Respect for patient rights and confidentiality of all patient and company related information.  Possesses current special Service Technician's licenses, as may be required by regulatory agencies.


Physical Demands

Able to perform routine office tasks, including telephone and in-person conversation, filing, computer use and reading of written materials.  Able to routinely lift, move and setup medical equipment weighing between 15-75 pounds.
